Flat workpieces are held firmly by the serrated gripping jaws, preventing twisting. There is a serrated, oval burner port for round and half-round objects. Several tool functions are possible through these two holding options: e.g. counter-holding small hexagonal nuts, pulling and holding sheet metal and angled steel, holding and turning pipes and conduits, bending locking pins and tensioning Bowden cables. The Knipex 03 02 180 combination pliers also prove to be a useful universal tool for cutting. They cut multi-strand copper cables up to Ø 12.0 mm, medium-hard wire up to Ø 3.4 mm and even hard wire (wire rope strand) up to Ø 2.2 mm. Thick copper cables (up to 16 mm²) can also be inserted between the long cutting edges and cut powerfully. The hardness of the cutting edges (approx. 60 HRC) and their sharpness ensure that the effort expended by the user is low.
